Overlook Hotel in ‘The Shining’ catches fire

The Timberline Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon, famous as the Overlook Hotel in the 1980 Stanley Kubrick movie “The Shining,” caught fire Thursday night.
The fire broke out at around 9:30 p.m. local time, and visitors and staff were evacuated. While the exact cause is being investigated, the hotel and ski lodge said embers from the fireplace were suspected to have set the roof on fire.

The Clackamas County Fire District said the blaze was a three-alarm commercial fire and that no injuries were reported. By 11:12 p.m., the fire had been put out, fire officials said.
