Freedom or Totalitarianism – Which Will We Choose?

We now know the Aug. 8, 2022, raid on former President Donald Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago was authorized by a federal judge at the request of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. We also know more than 40 federal prosecutors, FBI agents and “others” participated in what Garland called a “search” of the former president’s home to prevent the destruction of evidence in criminal activity. No former president of the United States has ever been subjected to such indignity. This is the kind of abuse associated with totalitarian states like Russia, Communist China and dictatorships in banana republics.We have now learned in the hours leading up to, during and since the Mar-a-Lago raid, dozens of elected state and federal Republican legislators have been accosted by federal law officers bearing warrants, demanding they surrender their cellphones and computers.Members of the media are demanding, inter alia, affidavits behind these search warrants. It’s a pointless inquiry. The answers — if ever provided — will be full of lies.
