Biden Sends Another $2.1 Billion to Ukraine

The Department of Defense (DoD) has just announced that they are sending $2.1 billion to Ukraine in the form of a “new security assistance package.” The large package includes “critical air defense and ammunition capabilities,” which is being provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).The following are the capabilities comprised within the support package: 

Additional munitions for Patriot air defense systems; 
HAWK air defense systems and missiles; 
105mm and 203mm artillery rounds; 
Puma Unmanned Aerial Systems; 
Laser-guided rocket system munitions; 
Support for training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
