Biden Finally Builds a Wall, but Not For America

It appears that Joe Biden has had a change of heart when it comes to the effectiveness of walls, but not when it comes to protecting America’s national security.Biden is building a $500,000 wall to protect his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, while continuing to ignore the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite having an estimated net worth of roughly $9 million, Biden is having the taxpayers pick up the tab for his wall, which is being financed by the Department of Homeland Security. On his first day in office, Biden immediately ordered a halt to wall construction along the southern border, claiming that a wall was “not a serious policy solution” to the nation’s immigration crisis. Since then, nearly five million illegal aliens have crossed the southern border, according to a study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform. Biden has long denied the efficacy of a wall to protect our nation’s borders, but now will enjoy his beach house from the safety of a taxpayer-funded wall. It is rank hypocrisy, but far from the first we’ve seen from an anti-borders politician. In early 2021, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi erected a massive wall in front of the Capitol building in order to protect it from purported threats. Pelosi infamously shut down the government for over a month after Democrats took control of Congress in the 2018 midterms, in order to deny then-President Donald Trump funding for a border wall. Of course, our political leaders, and the buildings in which they congregate deserve high-level protection, but so do regular Americans.
