Biden Demands Money For “Second Pandemic”

President Joe Biden spoke on Tuesday to praise the US for being the first country in the world to offer Covid-19 vaccines to 6‑month-olds. In addition to the announcement, he said that there are “enough doses” to distribute across the country, and said that all parents should get their babies vaccinated.When asked by a reporter if more funding was needed to further curb the pandemic, Biden said “We do need more money. We don’t just need more money for vaccines for children eventually. We need more money to fend off the second pandemic. There’s going to be another pandemic. And that’s not something the last outfit did very well as something we’ve been doing fairly well. That’s why we need the money.“There has been substantial pushback against the baby doses, as there has been remarkably low death rates or complications for children under 5. Per the CDC, in the 0–1 age group, there have been 299 deaths during the course of the pandemic attributed to Covid, out of a total of 45,962 deaths in that age group. In the 1–4 demographic, there were 143 deaths attributed to Covid out of a total of 8,617 deaths in that age group.Nonetheless, the Biden administration has pressed for children to be vaccinated.
