Biden Calls on Congress to Suspend Gas Tax

In a speech issued on Wednesday, President Biden called upon Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for the next 90 days, spanning through the busy summer travel months, and called on states to either suspend their state gas taxes, or find other ways to provide relief at the pump.“Today, I’m calling on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for the next 90 days through the busy summer season, busy travel season,” said Biden.At the pump, there is an 18-cent federal gas tax on each gallon of gasoline.
